Something to consider

I read a quote today by Jung and I thought Wow! what a great quote.

"The shoe that fits one person pinches another; there is no recipe for living that fits all cases." ~ C. G. Jung

I thought, if we all thought that way, maybe we wouldn't be so frustrated with those who don't do what we want the way we want. Likewise we wouldn't frustrate those who want us to do things the way they want it done. What a thought to consider. I guess if we as individuals choose to remind ourselves of this periodically, then maybe we could eliminate seeds of resentment that may pop up, thus saving ourselves a lot of grief.

To be like a tree

I went camping this weekend and while there I started paying special attention to the trees. While starring at them I realized that there's a lot that can be learned from a tree. For instance trees stand silently, tall and straight, they do not pass judgement they simply observe, allowing the creatures of the forest carry out their respective goals. Trees offer a selfless service to those that dwell in the forest. They provide food for some and shelter for others. Likewise trees continually eminate their ever present beauty regardless of whether or not the sun is shining down on them or hail stones are beating them down. I feel like I learned a lesson on how to live from the trees this weekend and I just wanted to share it.
